Wellness Counseling

A wellness plan is designed through a detailed consultation and assessment of your lifestyle, medical history, lab results, and healthcare goals. Through proper assessment and appropriate lab work, our personalized and evidence-based approach provides a roadmap to wellness which may include recommendations for diet, exercise, supplements, hormones, stress management solutions, weight loss, and more. Long-term results are based on your personal performance and commitment to the plan with our ongoing coaching and management.

This initial wellness consultation is comprised of two visits, most often scheduled 2 weeks apart. The initial visit will entail a thorough discussion of your goals and health concerns to identify areas to evaluate with more conclusive lab work (when needed) and assessment. A plan will be formatted and presented to you on your second visit with appropriate counseling. In the event that lab results present a need for further medical intervention or prescription medication, you will be referred to an (your) internist or other specialists during this process.

Tests with explanations below:.

+  Traditional Lipid Panels and Advanced CVD Monitoring
By studying advanced lipid tests, your clinician can uncover hidden risks of heart disease. These tests offer more detail than the traditional cholesterol/lipid panel.

+  Stress and Inflammation
Inflammation is a natural reaction to injury or infection. High levels of blood fats as well as insulin resistance can trigger inflammation in the arteries and lead to plaque buildup which may lead to a heart attack or stroke.

+  Diabetes and Prediabetes
Using advanced tests will help your Provider detect insulin resistance at the earliest signs, rather than waiting for symptoms to appear. Hidden clues to better Diabetes management are also revealed. Managing insulin resistance, Prediabetes, and Diabetes are critical to a healthy heart.

+  Other Metabolic Function
The breakdown of food and its conversion to energy is called “metabolism”. Several organs such as the liver, kidneys, and pancreas contribute to your metabolic health.

+  Genetic/DNA/Pharmacogenetics
These tests identify whether a person carries a gene from their mother and/or father that predisposes them to chronic diseases, blood clots, and their ability to process certain medications.

+  Hormones
Hormonal deficiency symptoms include: weight gain, loss of muscle mass, degenerative disease, compromised immune function, wrinkling and thinning skin, anxiety/depression, cognitive decline, brain fog, insulin resistance, fatigue, loss of sex drive, sleep disorders, stress. Replenishment of hormones through bio-identical hormone replacement therpy (BHRT) to optimal, physiological levels (not exceeding normal limits) has been shown to alleviate these age-related changes.
